All magazines follow the same conventions, these are:
Banner Almost like a Slogan for the magazine, sums up what the magazine offers its readers.
Masthead: The name of the magazine, placed at the top because this is where our eye naturally falls
Cover lines: highlight other stories featured in the magazine, further targeting the reader
Menu strip: Highlights further topics of interest addressed by the magazine.
Secondary lead: The story which is meant to appeal to readers if they are not initially attracted by the headline story.
Headline/ lead story: Highlights the main story featured in the magazine. Its main selling point
Feature article photo: which is often located in the centre of the page with the model making eye contact with the audience.
Often a colour scheme of three main colours is used for a front cover.
